Privacy

Privacy notice.

What this website, the beta list and the game do with information about you. Version of 2026-10-05.2.

Who is responsible

Necris runs this website and the beta list and decides what happens with the data described here. You can reach us at jan@zalsky.cz.

This website

  • There are no accounts for visitors and no advertising. The fonts, scripts and images are served from this site itself. Google Analytics runs only if you allow it, see below.
  • Without your consent the pages set no cookies. A browser that does not tell the server where a form is sent from may receive one technical cookie, _nss, which protects forms against being submitted from other sites. It holds no personal data.
  • Like every web server, ours records technical access data (network address, time, page requested, browser). It is used only to run and secure the site.
  • Some blog articles embed videos from YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode) or Vimeo. When you open such an article, those providers receive technical data such as your network address.
  • Backups of the website’s data are kept for up to 14 days, so a removed address can still exist in a backup for that long.

Visitor statistics (Google Analytics)

If you click “Accept” in the cookie banner, we measure visits with Google Analytics 4 to learn which pages and articles people read, where they come from and what they click (for example the App Store button or a question in the FAQ). We use this only to improve the website and decide what to write about. If you click “Reject” or do nothing, Google Analytics is not loaded at all and nothing is sent to Google.

  • What is processed: the pages you visit and when, the site you came from, what you click on this site, your device type, browser, operating system, screen size and language, your approximate location (country and city, derived from your network address), and a random identifier stored in a cookie. Google Analytics 4 does not store your network address. Google signals and advertising features are switched off.
  • Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and the rules on storing information in your device, Section 89(3) of the Czech Electronic Communications Act).
  • Who processes it: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, as our processor. Google may transfer data to the United States; Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
  • How long: the statistics are kept for 14 months, the cookies expire after 13 months.
  • Withdrawing: click “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page and choose “Reject”. The analytics cookies are then deleted and no more data is sent.

The beta list

If you join the beta list, we store your e-mail address, the time you joined and the version of this notice you agreed to. Nothing else, and not your network address.

  • Purpose: to invite you to the public beta of Compost Mortem on TestFlight. We do not use the address for anything else.
  • Legal basis: your consent, which you give by ticking the box next to the form.
  • Who sees it: we and our hosting provider. When we invite you, we enter your address in App Store Connect, and Apple sends the invitation and runs TestFlight under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not sell or pass on addresses in any other way.
  • How long: until the beta ends, then the list is deleted, or sooner if you ask.
  • Withdrawing: write to jan@zalsky.cz and your address is removed. You can also ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, and complain to your data protection authority.
  • To limit abuse, a hash of your network address is cached for one hour to count how often the form is sent. It is not stored with your e-mail address.

The game

This describes the game as it is being tested, and will be revised before the public release.

  • Compost Mortem has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and it does not send any data to us. Settings and preferences stay on your device.
  • In multiplayer, the game exchanges your player name, colour, chosen creature and which content you own with the other players in the same match. This happens over your local network or directly between nearby devices, and only with devices that are in that match. For this, the game asks for permission to find devices on your local network.
  • Purchases of the Full Game are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details.
  • In the TestFlight beta, Apple may pass crash reports and any feedback you choose to send on to us, under TestFlight’s own terms.
